Part of our Ray-Ban Meta guide
Ray-Ban Meta and XREAL One are different kinds of glasses, so the right pair depends on the job. Buy Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 3) if you want camera glasses in a Ray-Ban frame for photos, video, calls, music and Meta AI. It has no display and starts at $449. According to our XREAL lineup guide, XREAL calls the 1S a market replacement for the One. Prices and stock on XREAL's store change, so check the page before you plan around it.

This comparison is based on Meta's and XREAL's published specifications, XREAL's US store as of Oct. 28, 2026, and our own guides. We haven't tested either pair.

Display and camera
Ray-Ban Meta has no display. Our camera quality guide notes that this means no live preview, so you frame shots with your head. The camera is a 12MP unit with a 100-degree field of view, and the glasses record 3K Ultra HD video. Gen 3 comes in three styles, Aviator, Zena and Wayfarer, and 27 color and lens combinations. Our styles and sizes guide lists each frame's lens width and weight. Our Gen 3 vs Gen 2 guide covers what changed from the last generation, and our Ray-Ban Meta Audio guide covers the camera-free option.
The One works the other way around. Its Sony micro-OLED panels run at 1080p per eye and 120Hz, reach 600 nits and give a 50-degree field of view through birdbath optics. The glasses support 3DoF head tracking on their own, and XREAL's page lists an Ultrawide mode, a curved virtual screen that reaches 310 inches. Tracking in all six directions, 6DoF, needs the XREAL Eye add-on, which costs $99 on the store. XREAL's spec table lists no camera.
Audio, battery and connection
Ray-Ban Meta has open-ear speakers with adaptive volume. Meta says a six-microphone array cuts more than 90% of background noise so calls and voice commands come through clearly, and its compare page lists AI integration with Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, Audible and Shazam. Meta rates Gen 3 at up to nine hours, plus 50 more from the charging case. Our battery life guide covers every model. The glasses need a smartphone with the Meta AI app, a Meta account and wireless internet access, according to our complete Ray-Ban Meta guide, which also lists an IPX4 rating for every pair. Our waterproof guide explains what that rating covers.
XREAL's table lists "Sound by Bose" for the One's audio and gives no battery figure. XREAL says the One Series connects to nearly any compute device with video over USB-C, in its Dec. 4, 2024 launch release. Our lineup guide says iPhones from the iPhone 15 on work, because the glasses need a DisplayPort video signal over the cable, and Lightning iPhones need an adapter.
Prescriptions and fit
Meta says Ray-Ban Meta glasses support most prescriptions, and that availability varies by location. Our prescription lenses guide covers the ranges and prices, and our lens options guide covers clear, sun, polarized and Transitions lenses.
According to our guide to prescription smart glasses, the XREAL One comes with a prescription frame in the box, without lenses, and XREAL sells the lenses separately. That guide also compares every brand's options.
