XREAL glasses lineup explained: every model, its price and who it's for
XREAL's US store lists nine pairs of glasses, from $199 to $1,499 at regular prices, and the names don't make the differences obvious. The differences come down to a chip, the field of view, the refresh rate and whether the glasses run apps of their own.

Part of our XREAL guide
XREAL's US store lists nine pairs of glasses, from $199 to $1,499 at regular prices. Eight of them are display glasses: you plug them into a phone, laptop, handheld or console with a USB-C cable and they show what's on that device as a large virtual screen floating in front of you. The ninth, XREAL Aura, is a computer of its own running Google's Android XR. The names don't help much. "One," "1S" and "1 Pro+" are all part of the same family, and two current models carry other brand names: one is co-branded with ASUS's Republic of Gamers and one comes from XREAL's new sub-brand, X By XREAL.
Prices below are from XREAL's US store on Oct. 25, 2026, except the One and the One Pro, which we rechecked there on Oct. 29. Aura's launch price comes from Google's Oct. 28 announcement and its regular prices from 9to5Google and TechCrunch. Specifications come from XREAL's announcements. The recommendations are based on those specifications; we haven't tested these glasses.

The store also still lists two older models from the Air series, the Air 2 Pro at $249 (out of stock when we checked) and the Air 2 at $199. They're covered at the end.
How XREAL's display glasses work
The display glasses don't run apps of their own. They show the video signal from whatever you plug them into, which has to output DisplayPort over USB-C. XREAL lists iPhone 15, 16 and 17 models, iPads, Android phones with DisplayPort support, the Steam Deck, the ROG Ally, Macs and PCs. Lightning iPhones need an adapter, and so do the Nintendo Switch and Switch 2, which otherwise rely on their dock to send video out.
What separates the models, apart from the optics, is a chip. The One series, introduced in December 2024, added XREAL's own X1 processor inside the glasses. It keeps the virtual screen fixed in space as you move your head (XREAL calls this three degrees of freedom, or 3DoF), without needing an app on your phone. You can make the screen bigger, push it farther away or switch to ultra-wide layouts with a button on the frame. The One, 1S, One Pro, 1 Pro+ and ROG XREAL R1 all have the X1. The cheaper a01+ uses a different display chip and a stabilization algorithm instead: its screen follows your view and stays centered, with nothing to anchor.
The models, and who each one is for
X By XREAL a01+ ($299)
The a01+ is the first product from X By XREAL, a sub-brand for a wider, more mainstream audience, and went on sale on July 10. It weighs 62 grams, 20 grams less than the 1S, and has micro-OLED displays rated up to 1,600 nits, HDR10 support, a 120Hz refresh rate and a 50-degree field of view. XREAL describes the picture as a 147-inch screen seen from 4 meters away. The front frame can be swapped, and there's no camera. It suits watching films on a plane or playing a handheld game on a big screen, as long as you don't need the screen to stay put when you turn your head.
XREAL 1S ($449)
The 1S, launched on Jan. 4, replaced the original One as XREAL's entry model with the X1 chip and costs $50 less than the One did at launch. It improved nearly every number: resolution went from 1080p to 1200p, brightness from 600 to 700 nits, the field of view from 50 to 52 degrees and the shape of the screen from 16:9 to 16:10, which gives documents a little more height. It weighs 82 grams, adjusts its tint automatically to the light around you and has speakers tuned under the Sound by Bose label. With the X1 you can pin the screen in place and use ultra-wide 21:9 or 32:9 layouts. For most people who want XREAL's full set of screen features, this is the model to start with.
XREAL One Pro ($539 on Oct. 29) and XREAL 1 Pro+ ($599)
The One Pro went on general sale in July 2025. Its main difference from the 1S is a wider 57-degree field of view from flat "X-Prism" optics that are thinner than the older birdbath lenses. It runs at 1080p per eye and 700 nits, weighs 87 grams and comes in two sizes for different distances between the eyes (57 to 66 mm and 66 to 75 mm), which helps the image stay sharp. XREAL's price at general sale was $649, and its US store listed the One Pro at $539 on Oct. 29, 2026, with no regular price shown.
In mid-October, XREAL added the 1 Pro+, at $599. It keeps the One Pro's X1 chip, anchoring and 57-degree view, and raises peak brightness to 1,200 nits, adds AI HDR and gives you Standard, Movie and Reading modes. Its feature for turning ordinary 2D video into 3D now runs at 60 frames per second instead of 30, and a redesigned nose pad is meant to keep the glasses steadier for long sessions. The 1 Pro+ is the newer and brighter of the two, and it costs $60 more than the $539 the store showed for the One Pro on Oct. 29.
ROG XREAL R1 ($849)
The ROG XREAL R1, made with ASUS's Republic of Gamers brand and announced at CES in January, is built for games. Its micro-OLED displays run at 1920 x 1080 and up to 240Hz, which XREAL and ASUS call a first for glasses, and XREAL's store listing gives a 0.01-millisecond response time. It has the X1 chip, a 57-degree view and automatic tinting, weighs 91 grams and comes in two sizes. It plugs straight into a ROG Ally handheld, and the ROG Control Dock adds a DisplayPort 1.4 input and two HDMI 2.0 inputs for switching between a PC and consoles. If you don't play fast games on a PC or console, the 1 Pro+ gives you the same field of view for $250 less.
XREAL Aura (from $1,099 at launch)
Aura is a different kind of product. The glasses have a 70-degree field of view and connect by cable to a pocket compute puck that runs Android XR, so you get Google Play apps, Gemini and hand tracking without plugging into anything else. Google says launch pricing starts at $1,099 through the end of the year, and its post gives no other price. The regular prices come from outlets: $1,279 for the 12GB RAM and 256GB model, according to 9to5Google, and $1,499 for the bigger model, which TechCrunch says is $1,299 at launch. Orders opened on Oct. 28 in the US, Canada and South Korea, and open in Japan on Nov. 2, for buyers 18 and older at xreal.com/aura or, in the US, at BestBuy.com. Google says shipments begin in mid-November. Buy it for apps and AR experiences. If you only want a screen, the display glasses above cost much less.
Older models: One, Air 2 Pro and Air 2
The original XREAL One from December 2024 is still listed at $399, down from $499 at launch, but XREAL's US store showed a back-in-stock sign-up and no restock date on Oct. 29, 2026. It has the X1 chip, a 50-degree view at 1080p per eye and 600 nits, and weighs 84 grams. At $50 less than the 1S it's reasonable if you can find it in stock, but the 1S beats it on resolution, brightness and field of view.
The Air 2 Pro belongs to the older Air series, which predates the X1 chip, so anchoring the screen depends on the device it's connected to, such as XREAL's Beam Pro. XREAL lists a 46-degree field of view, and the store showed it at $249 but out of stock on Oct. 25. The Air 2 is listed at $199. They are the cheapest way into XREAL glasses, with the oldest optics.
Accessories that change what the glasses can do
The XREAL Eye, $99, is a small camera that clips between the nose pads of One-series glasses, including the 1S. It takes photos and video from your point of view and adds six-degrees-of-freedom anchoring, so a screen stays in place even as you walk around it. XREAL Neo combines a 10,000mAh power bank with a DisplayPort video hub and lets the Switch and Switch 2 connect without their dock. XREAL priced it at $119 after a launch offer. The XREAL Beam Pro, from $199, is a pocket device that runs apps for the glasses and captures spatial video.
Which XREAL glasses should you buy?
Based on XREAL's specifications and current prices:
- For the lowest price on a current model, and if you don't mind a screen that follows your head, the $299 a01+.
- For an anchored screen at a sensible price, the $449 1S.
- For a wider and brighter picture, the $599 1 Pro+. If the extra brightness doesn't matter to you, the older One Pro was $60 less on XREAL's US store on Oct. 29, at $539.
- For fast games on a PC or a console, the $849 ROG XREAL R1.
- For apps, Gemini and AR without a phone or laptop attached, XREAL Aura, which you can order now at launch pricing from $1,099 through the end of the year.
Whatever you choose, check that your phone or console can output video over USB-C before you buy, and that the size you order matches the distance between your eyes when XREAL offers two.
Update, Oct. 29, 2026: This guide now gives Aura's launch pricing from $1,099 and open orders, which Google announced on Oct. 28, in place of the $1,279 starting price and reservation-only ordering from XREAL's Oct. 7 announcement. It also gives the One Pro at the $539 XREAL's US store showed on Oct. 29, instead of $599.
Frequently asked questions
What's the difference between the XREAL One Pro and the 1 Pro+?
The 1 Pro+ is built on the One Pro, with the same X1 chip and 57-degree view. XREAL raised peak brightness to 1,200 nits, added AI HDR and three viewing modes, made 2D-to-3D conversion run at 60fps instead of 30 and redesigned the nose pads. The 1 Pro+ costs $599 at XREAL's US store, and the store showed the One Pro at $539 on Oct. 29, 2026.
XREAL 1S or One Pro: which should I get?
The $449 1S has a higher 1200p resolution in a 16:10 shape and a 52-degree view. The One Pro, which XREAL's US store showed at $539 on Oct. 29, has a wider 57-degree view at 1080p per eye and comes in two sizes for different eye spacings. Both have the X1 chip for anchoring the screen.
Do XREAL glasses work with an iPhone?
Yes, with iPhones that have USB-C, from the iPhone 15 on, because the glasses need a DisplayPort video signal over the cable. Older Lightning iPhones need an adapter.
Do XREAL glasses work with the Nintendo Switch?
Not on their own. XREAL says the Switch and Switch 2 need an adapter or their dock to send video to the glasses, and its Neo power bank and video hub lets them connect without the dock.
Is the XREAL One discontinued?
XREAL calls the 1S a market replacement for the One, but its US store still listed the One at $399 on Oct. 29, 2026, with a back-in-stock sign-up and no restock date.
