Ray-Ban Meta styles and sizes: Wayfarer, Skyler, Headliner, Aviator and more compared
Ray-Ban Meta glasses come in nine frame shapes, from the classic Wayfarer to the new Aviator and Zena. Here is how the styles, sizes and fits differ, what each weighs and costs, and how to pick one.

Part of our Ray-Ban Meta guide
Ray-Ban Meta glasses come in nine frame shapes across four lines. Gen 3 has the Wayfarer, Aviator and Zena. Gen 2 has the Wayfarer, Skyler and Headliner. The prescription-first Optics line has the Blayzer and Scriber, and the camera-free Audio line has the Clubmaster and Burbank. Meta and Ray-Ban list two sizes for the Wayfarer and the Blayzer, and a low-bridge version of the Headliner.
This guide is based on Meta's and EssilorLuxottica's announcements, EssilorLuxottica's brochures for opticians and the product pages and size guides of Meta and Ray-Ban. We haven't tested the glasses.

Prices are Ray-Ban.com's US starting prices, which our price guide breaks down by lens type. Lens widths come from EssilorLuxottica's Gen 2 and Optics brochures and from Ray-Ban's India store pages for the Wayfarer, Aviator and Zena. The Optics weights are EssilorLuxottica's, the Clubmaster, Burbank and Aviator weights come from Meta's listings and the Wayfarer's from Engadget. We didn't find published widths or weights for the other cells marked "Not listed." Our complete Ray-Ban Meta guide covers the rest of each model's specs.
Wayfarer, Skyler and Headliner
Gen 2 is the newest generation that has all three. Meta's Gen 2 announcement pitched them as "the legendary Wayfarer, the modern Skyler, or the popular Headliner." EssilorLuxottica's brochure calls the Headliner "a hybrid of the Wayfarer and the Round," available in a low-bridge fit "for petite and flatter noses," and says the Skyler's "wider front and gentle curves are designed to suit most faces."
The Wayfarer is the square classic and the only one of the three in two sizes: Ray-Ban's FAQ lists it in regular and large, and the Gen 2 brochure gives the sizes as 50 and 53. The Headliner comes in high-bridge and low-bridge versions, and the Skyler is listed in a single fit. A Skyler with Transitions lenses costs $459 on Ray-Ban.com, $80 above Gen 2's starting price. Only the Wayfarer carried over to Gen 3, Engadget notes, though it adds that Meta could bring more Gen 2 shapes over later.
Gen 3: Wayfarer, Aviator and Zena
Gen 3 comes in 27 color and lens combinations, including Black, Havana and select seasonal colors, Meta says. Meta also says the Wayfarer is available in large, and EssilorLuxottica's Gen 3 announcement confirms standard and large sizes. Engadget's comparison puts the standard Gen 3 Wayfarer at 129 mm hinge to hinge with 149 mm temples, against 131 mm and 150 mm for the standard Gen 2, and 51.5 grams against 51.
The Aviator is a "globally recognized and timeless silhouette," in Meta's words, and Engadget describes it as a thick frame in translucent and tortoiseshell colors. Ray-Ban's India store lists one size, 54 mm, with an 18 mm bridge. It's the heaviest style with a published weight and has a narrower prescription range than the others, and a limited-edition version in Milky Beige with brown Transitions lenses costs $579. Zena is what Meta calls "a bold new cat-eye frame," and Engadget says it comes in translucent, black and tortoiseshell colors. Ray-Ban's India store lists one size, 49 mm, with a 22 mm bridge.
Optics: Blayzer and Scriber
The Optics frames were built for prescription wearers. EssilorLuxottica's brochure gives the Blayzer a 50 mm regular size with 150 mm temples and a 19 mm bridge, and a 54 mm large with 155 mm temples. The Scriber has a 49 mm lens, 150 mm temples and a 22 mm bridge.
Meta calls them "the most comfortable glasses we've ever designed." Nose pads come in three sizes, with universal pads on the frame and high-bridge and low-bridge pads in the box. The hinges have 10 degrees of extra rotation, and the temple tips are adjusted by hand, without heat. EssilorLuxottica recommends having them professionally shaped in a store. Ray-Ban.com also sells "made for prescription" Optics versions of the Gen 3 Wayfarer, Aviator and Zena, with the frame at $449.
Audio: Clubmaster and Burbank
Meta calls Ray-Ban Meta Audio its lightest and slimmest AI glasses yet, and the two styles come in 23 color and lens combinations. The Clubmaster has an "iconic Ray-Ban style with a retro-inspired silhouette" and the Burbank is "a classic, timeless rectangle." Meta's announcement lists professionally adjustable temple tips, adjustable or swappable nose pads and overextension hinges.
Sizes and fit
Ray-Ban's frame sizes are lens widths in millimeters. Its size guide says the numbers printed on the temple of your current glasses, such as 52-20, give the lens and bridge width, so you can compare them with the frame you're considering. The guide also describes a card test: hold a credit card against the center of your nose in a mirror and see where its far edge lands relative to your eye. Ray-Ban sorts the results into average, wide and narrow faces.
Gen 3 nose pads can be adjusted to one of three positions, and Ray-Ban's FAQ says temple tip adjustments "should only be performed by an optician."
Colors, lenses and prescriptions
Lens choices include clear, sun, polarized and Transitions lenses, depending on the style. On the Gen 3 Wayfarer and Aviator, polarized lenses add $30 and Transitions add $80. The Optics frames come in Matte Black, Transparent Black and Transparent Dark Olive, plus limited-time seasonal colors such as Shiny Brick Brown and Shiny Transparent Ocean Blue on the Blayzer this fall.
Meta's style guide says all Ray-Ban Meta glasses support prescription lenses, and its help center lists an eligible range of -12.00 to +6.00 total power. The Gen 3 Aviator is the exception at -6.00 to +4.00. Meta says the Optics frames support "nearly all prescriptions." Our prescription guide has lens types, prices and where to order.
How to choose
Start with the camera. If you don't want one, the Clubmaster and Burbank are the lightest frames and last up to 12 hours on a charge; our Gen 3 vs Audio comparison explains the trade. If you want one, Gen 3 has the longest battery life and the newest shapes, and Gen 2 is $70 cheaper and the only current generation with the Skyler and Headliner. Our Gen 3 vs Gen 2 comparison has the full list.
Then check the fit. Compare the numbers on your current glasses with the lens widths above. The Wayfarer and the Blayzer are the two styles that offer a larger size if the standard one feels tight, and the Optics and Audio frames are the ones with swappable nose pads and wider hinges.
Finally, try before you commit. Meta's store pages for the Gen 3 Wayfarer have a "Try on virtually" button, Ray-Ban stores carry the collection, and both retailers give you time to return a pair: 30 days from delivery at the Meta Store and 45 days from receipt at Ray-Ban.com. Our warranty, returns and repairs guide has the details.
