Styles, price and weight
Audio comes in two styles. The Clubmaster is Ray-Ban's browline shape, which Meta describes as having "a retro-inspired silhouette." The Burbank is "a classic, timeless rectangle." The two share 23 color and lens combinations.
Meta calls them "the slimmest, lightest Ray-Ban Meta styles yet." Its store listings put the standard Burbank at 43.1 grams and the Clubmaster at 47.1 grams, according to our styles and sizes guide. By comparison, the Gen 3 Wayfarer weighs 51.5 grams in Engadget's comparison and the Gen 3 Aviator 54.5 grams in Meta's listing.
Audio starts at $349, which is $100 below Gen 3. On Ray-Ban.com a Clubmaster with Transitions lenses is $429, and the site also sells "made for prescription" Optics versions of both styles at $349 for the frame, lenses extra. Meta's Spanish store lists Audio from €349. Our price guide lists every Ray-Ban Meta model, and our lens options guide explains what each lens choice adds.
Battery and charging
Meta rates Audio at up to 12 hours of general use on one charge, including up to six hours of continuous audio playback, according to its store FAQ. The case adds up to 48 more hours, and 20 minutes in the case takes the glasses to 50%. The USB-C charging cable isn't included, Meta's compare page says.
Those 12 hours are the highest rating of any Ray-Ban Meta model. Gen 3 is rated for up to nine hours, with up to 50 more from its case, and our battery life guide compares every model.
Speakers, microphones and controls
The speakers are open-ear, and Meta's compare page lists adaptive volume, which Meta's help center says raises the volume in noisy places and lowers it in quiet ones. Meta's pitch for Audio is high-quality sound "without closing you off from the world around you." The glasses have a six-microphone array, the same count as Gen 3, and Meta says you can take calls that "capture your voice more clearly than earbuds."
Sound doesn't stay entirely private. Meta says audio from its Ray-Ban Meta glasses is directional and meant to be heard mainly by the wearer, but people nearby may hear faint sound in quiet places or at higher volumes, as our music and podcasts guide explains.
You control Audio by voice ("Hey Meta"), with a two-way touchpad, a customizable action button and a power switch. Meta's compare page lists no capture button for it.
The glasses are rated IPX4, which Meta says means they "can easily handle sweat, light rain and accidental splashes." They aren't designed for submersion or heavy, sustained rain, and Ray-Ban's FAQ says the charging case isn't water resistant. Our IP rating explainer has the details.
For fit, an optician can adjust the temple tips, you can adjust or swap the nose pads, and the frames have overextension hinges. Meta says 43 grams is "light enough to wear all day."
What Audio does without a camera
Meta's FAQ describes Audio as "built for calls, music and voice assistance, with no camera or capture features." Meta says audio has been its glasses' "most popular feature since day one," and that is the part Audio keeps.
- Say "Hey Meta" to take a call or start a playlist, and Meta AI answers questions out loud.
- Music and podcasts play through the open-ear speakers, with integrations for Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, Audible and Shazam.
- Live translation covers 20 languages when you're connected, and what you say appears as text in the Meta AI app. The offline language packs that other models support don't work on Audio.
Our Meta AI guide and live translation guide cover each of these in more detail.
Conversation focus, which raises the voice of the person in front of you in noisy places, is unconfirmed for Audio. Meta introduced it in December 2025 for Ray-Ban Meta and Oakley Meta HSTN through its Early Access program, and its launch material for Audio doesn't say whether Audio gets it. To see what your own pair supports, open the Meta AI app, tap Glasses, then Device settings, and scroll to Experiences.
Anything that needs a camera is not part of Audio. That means photos and video, asking Meta AI about what you are looking at (the glasses take a photo and send it to Meta's cloud to answer) and Live AI, which keeps the camera and microphone on during a session.
Meta says Muse, its AI agent, will come to its glasses "in the coming months," and hearing enhancement, FDA-cleared software for adults with perceived mild to moderate hearing loss, arrives in the US later this year for $149.99. Meta hasn't listed which models get either. Engadget reported that hearing enhancement comes first to Meta Glasses and later to Gen 3 and Audio, as our Connect recap notes.
Prescription lenses
Meta says both styles are "compatible with a wide range of optical prescriptions" but publishes no range for them. For most other Ray-Ban Meta frames its help center lists -12.00 to +6.00 total power, so have an optician check your numbers if your prescription is strong. Ray-Ban.com sells Optics versions of the Clubmaster and Burbank, made for prescription lenses, at $349 for the frame.
The lens prices we have are for a Gen 3 Wayfarer Optics frame, where clear single-vision lenses list at $225 and progressives at $405. We found no lens prices specific to the Audio frames. Best Buy's prescription FAQ adds that the manufacturer warranty stays intact only if a certified retailer adds lenses to a pair you already own. Our prescription guide covers lens types, ordering and delivery times.
Who should buy Ray-Ban Meta Audio
Audio suits you if you want music, calls and a voice assistant in the lightest Ray-Ban Meta frames and don't want a camera on your face. It costs $100 less than Gen 3 and has the longest battery rating in the Ray-Ban Meta range, and glasses wearers get an adjustable fit and Optics versions made for prescription lenses. Our Gen 3 vs Audio comparison puts the two models side by side.
Look elsewhere if you want photos or video, visual questions for Meta AI, Live AI or offline translation, all of which live on the camera models. Amazon's Echo Frames are the other mainstream camera-free glasses, built around Alexa, although Amazon's listings showed them unavailable on Oct. 25. Our Echo Frames guide and camera-free glasses guide cover the alternatives.
Venue rules are often written about cameras, which Audio lacks, but some name microphones too. Since July 20, New York's courts have required visitors to leave eyewear with cameras or microphones with court officers, Syracuse.com reported, and Audio has six microphones. If you plan to wear them somewhere that restricts smart glasses, check the venue's wording first.
Where to buy and what you need
Meta sells Audio on Meta.com, and Ray-Ban sells it on Ray-Ban.com. Ray-Ban also sells Ray-Ban Meta glasses in its stores and through certified dealers, and EssilorLuxottica names LensCrafters and Sunglass Hut among its retailers, but the pages we read don't say which retailers carry Audio, so check a store's listing before you travel. Return windows differ by seller: 30 days from delivery at the Meta Store and 45 days at Ray-Ban.com. Ray-Ban handles warranty claims for Ray-Ban Meta glasses even if you bought them from Meta, as our warranty guide explains.
Ray-Ban's FAQ says Ray-Ban Meta glasses need a smartphone, a Meta account and wireless internet access, and you set them up and manage them in the Meta AI app. Our setup guide walks through pairing, and our complete Ray-Ban Meta guide covers the rest of the lineup.
