Meta Glasses guide: Adventurer, Kylie Jenner Starfire, LISA, Capri and Nova explained
Meta's own line of AI glasses starts at $249 and now includes designs with Kylie Jenner and LISA. Here is every model, what it costs, how long it lasts, which prescriptions it takes and where to buy it.

Meta Glasses are the AI glasses Meta sells under its own name, made with EssilorLuxottica and separate from the Ray-Ban Meta and Oakley Meta lines. Meta launched the line on June 23 from $299. On Oct. 23, a black Meta Adventurer with a plug-in case went on sale for $249, the cheapest pair with a camera in Meta's lineup. The line also includes a Kylie Jenner design called Starfire, two LISA editions and two newer shapes, Capri and Nova.
This guide is based on Meta's and EssilorLuxottica's announcements, Meta's store pages and Best Buy's prescription FAQ. Where a detail comes from press coverage, we say so. We haven't tested any Meta Glasses.

The Meta Glasses lineup at a glance
| Model | Frame and lenses | US price |
|---|---|---|
| Meta Adventurer with plug-in case | Black frame, grey lenses, standard and large sizes | $249, on sale Oct. 23 |
| Meta Adventurer, launch version | Rectangle frame with a foldable charging case | $299 at launch |
| Meta Glasses by Kylie Jenner, Ivory | Starfire style, new colorway | From $399 |
| Meta Adventurer LISA Edition | Moonlit Sky frame, Blush lenses | From $399 |
| Meta Capri LISA Edition | Eclipse cat-eye frame, grey lenses | From $399 |
| Meta Capri | Cat-eye frame | No US price in Meta's announcement |
| Meta Nova | Pantos frame, small and standard sizes | No US price in Meta's announcement |
| Meta Fury | Limited edition with a clear frame and mirrored lenses | Not stated |
The $299 launch price is Meta's "starting at just $299" for the line, and Notebookcheck lists the original Adventurer at $299 on Amazon. The $249 and $399 prices come from Meta's Sept. 23 announcement. Meta launched the line with 26 styles, counting colors, lenses and frames, and says it will offer more than 100 glasses options across Ray-Ban, Oakley and Meta Glasses by the end of the year.
What the line has in common
Meta's launch post lists the same features for the line: an action button that calls up Meta AI or a feature you choose, open-ear speakers, a multi-microphone array with wind noise reduction, a camera for hands-free photos and video, over eight hours of battery and a foldable charging case that adds up to 40 more hours. The glasses have three-way adjustable nose pads and are, in Meta's words, "compatible with prescription lenses." The $249 Adventurer differs on the case, as described below.
Meta's compare page gives the Adventurer LISA Edition the same camera specifications as the Ray-Ban Meta Gen 3 Wayfarer: a wide-angle 12MP camera with a 100-degree field of view and video up to 3K at 30 frames per second. It lists the same six-microphone array for both. None of the Meta pages we read gives a weight for any Meta Glasses style.
Meta Glasses were also the first of Meta's AI glasses to launch with Meta AI running on Muse Spark from day one, in the US and Canada. Muse itself, Meta's AI agent, is coming to its glasses "in the coming months." Engadget reported that hearing enhancement, FDA-cleared software for adults with perceived mild to moderate hearing loss, arrives first on Meta Glasses and later on Ray-Ban Meta Gen 3 and Audio, as our Connect recap notes.
Meta Adventurer
The Adventurer is the line's rectangle, which Meta describes as "a clean rectangle shape for a timeless, versatile look." It comes in standard and large sizes.
The version Meta announced on Sept. 23 has a black frame, grey lenses and a plug-in case for $249, which Meta calls "our most accessible price yet." It went up for pre-order on Meta.com that day, and Meta said it would go on sale Oct. 23 in every country where Meta Glasses are sold.
Meta's announcement doesn't explain the plug-in case. Notebookcheck reported that, unlike the foldable charging case the line launched with, it has no built-in battery. You recharge the glasses by plugging the case in, and the case can also be connected to a power bank. Meta's announcement gives no separate battery figures for this version. Notebookcheck put the saving at $50 against the original Adventurer.
Meta Glasses by Kylie Jenner
Meta's June post described Meta Glasses by Kylie as "a unique slim oval frame designed in collaboration with Kylie Jenner and inspired by her personal style." In September, Meta added a colorway called Ivory to what it calls her "signature Starfire style," starting at $399.
Meta Glasses by LISA
Meta introduced a collection with LISA on Sept. 23, in two styles that both "support prescriptions" and start at $399. The Meta Adventurer LISA Edition is a Moonlit Sky frame with Blush lenses. The Meta Capri LISA Edition is an Eclipse cat-eye frame with grey lenses. Meta says the design details include a custom star on the case and the temple tips, case charms inspired by LISA's pets and digital photocards you get through the glasses.
On Meta's compare page, the Adventurer LISA Edition comes in one color, with a foldable charging case, a LISA collaboration blind-box charm and bespoke packaging with an authentication card. Meta lists over eight hours of battery and 40 more from the case, and the Spanish store prices it at €419.
Capri, Nova and Fury
Capri and Nova are the two shapes Meta added in September, and EssilorLuxottica's release says they widen the choice for buyers. Capri is a cat-eye shape, going by the LISA edition's description. Meta's Spanish store calls the Nova a "Pantos frame," lists it in small and standard sizes and prices it at €309. Notebookcheck reported that Capri and Nova come in six and seven colors. Meta's announcement gave US prices only for the Adventurer, the Kylie Jenner Ivory style and the LISA editions, so check Meta.com or a retailer for Capri and Nova on their own.
Fury was one of the three styles the line launched with, described in June as "a bold frame that makes a bold statement." Meta said a limited-edition Fury with a clear frame and mirrored lenses would be available exclusively at Connect and Meta Lab stores at launch. Any Meta Glasses pair can also be customized through Meta's Mix & Match program, in which you pick the frame, lenses and case color at a Meta Lab store or online.
Battery and charging
Meta lists Meta Glasses at over eight hours of battery, with up to 40 more hours from the foldable charging case. Ray-Ban Meta Gen 3 is rated for up to nine hours and 50 hours from its case, and Oakley Meta HSTN for up to eight hours and 48 from its case. The plug-in case on the $249 Adventurer has no battery of its own, according to Notebookcheck. Meta's compare page lists the USB-C charging cable as not included.
Prescription lenses
Meta says the whole line is compatible with prescription lenses. Best Buy's prescription FAQ gives Meta Glasses a range of -6.00 to +2.25 SPH+CYL (sphere plus cylinder), in single vision or progressive lenses. The same FAQ lists -12.00 to +6.00 for Ray-Ban Meta Gen 2 and the Optics styles, so Meta Glasses take less of a positive prescription than those.
You can add lenses to a pair you already own at a certified retailer or your optical provider, the FAQ says, and orders through Meta's site take up to 14 days. The manufacturer warranty stays intact only if a certified retailer adds the lenses. Our prescription guide for Ray-Ban Meta explains how ordering works, and our guide to prescription smart glasses compares the brands.
Where to buy
Meta said at launch that Meta Glasses were available at Meta.com, Best Buy, Amazon, LensCrafters, Sunglass Hut and select other retailers, and at Meta Lab stores, where you can also use Mix & Match. In September, Meta said the line was available starting that day in Singapore, South Korea, Mexico and the United Arab Emirates, with Brazil coming soon. Best Buy has Meta Lab sections in some of its stores, as our complete Ray-Ban Meta guide notes.
How Meta Glasses differ from Ray-Ban Meta and Oakley Meta
| Meta Glasses | Ray-Ban Meta | Oakley Meta | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Starting price | $249 | $349 (Audio), $379 (Gen 2), $449 (Gen 3) | $399 (HSTN), $499 (Vanguard) |
| Frames | Meta shapes, plus Kylie Jenner and LISA designs | Ray-Ban styles such as Wayfarer, Aviator and Clubmaster | Oakley sport frames |
| Battery on the glasses | Over 8 hours | Up to 9 hours (Gen 3), up to 12 hours (Audio) | Up to 8 hours (HSTN), up to 9 hours (Vanguard) |
| Extra from the case | Up to 40 hours | Up to 50 hours (Gen 3), up to 48 hours (Audio) | Up to 48 hours (HSTN), up to 36 hours (Vanguard) |
| Prescription range | -6.00 to +2.25 | -12.00 to +6.00 on most frames | -6.00 to +4.00 (HSTN), none listed for Vanguard |
All three run Meta AI. On Meta's compare page the Adventurer LISA Edition lists the same camera, microphones, action button and open-ear speakers as the Gen 3 Wayfarer, so the differences come down to price, frames, battery and prescription range. Our guides to Oakley Meta and Ray-Ban Meta cover the other two lines in full, and our Oakley Meta vs Ray-Ban Meta comparison sets those two side by side.
Which Meta Glasses to buy
On specs alone, the $249 Adventurer is the cheapest way into Meta's camera glasses, in exchange for a plug-in case. The foldable-case version costs more and holds up to 40 hours of extra charge, and the Kylie Jenner and LISA styles are design collaborations at $399. Every Meta Glasses style takes a narrower prescription range than most Ray-Ban Meta frames.
If your prescription is outside -6.00 to +2.25, Ray-Ban Meta is the safer bet. Oakley Meta suits sport, and Ray-Ban Meta Audio at $349 is Meta's camera-free option, covered in our Audio guide. Our best smart glasses guide puts Meta Glasses next to the rest of the market.
Frequently asked questions
How much are Meta Glasses?
The cheapest is a black Meta Adventurer with grey lenses and a plug-in case at $249. Meta launched the line in June "starting at just $299," and the Kylie Jenner Ivory style and the LISA editions start at $399. Meta's September announcement gave no US price for Capri or Nova on their own.
Are Meta Glasses the same as Ray-Ban Meta?
They come from the same partnership between Meta and EssilorLuxottica and run Meta AI, but they are separate lines. Ray-Ban Meta uses Ray-Ban frames and starts at $349 for the camera-free Audio, while Meta Glasses use Meta-branded shapes and start at $249. Battery and prescription ranges differ too, as the table above shows.
Do Meta Glasses work with prescription lenses?
Yes. Best Buy's prescription FAQ gives Meta Glasses a range of -6.00 to +2.25 SPH+CYL in single vision or progressive lenses, and says you can add lenses to a pair you already own at a certified retailer. Our prescription options guide compares other brands.
Where can I buy Meta Glasses?
Meta said at launch that they were sold at Meta.com, Best Buy, Amazon, LensCrafters, Sunglass Hut and select other retailers, and at Meta Lab stores. Meta's Mix & Match program lets you choose frame, lenses and case color at a Meta Lab store or online.
What is the plug-in case on the $249 Meta Adventurer?
Meta's announcement only calls it a plug-in case. Notebookcheck reported that it has no built-in battery, so you charge the glasses by plugging the case in, or by connecting it to a power bank, instead of topping up from a foldable case that holds up to 40 hours.
