AWE 2026 recap: Snap Specs, XREAL Aura and what happened next

Augmented World Expo USA 2026 ran June 15 to 18 in Long Beach, California, according to AWE's event site. The Expo Hall opened on June 16, the day Snap and XREAL each unveiled a pair of glasses. This page covers what was announced, what each product costs now, and what is still unconfirmed as of Oct. 28, 2026.

The show in brief

AWE's launch roundup says the Expo Hall "opened today" with more than 5,000 attendees, 250 exhibitors and 400 speakers. AWE's release is dated Long Beach, June 16.

Snap Specs

Snap said in its announcement: "Today at Augmented World Expo 2026, we introduced SPECS, our new augmented reality glasses." Snap's BusinessWire copy of the release calls them "a wearable computer built into see-through augmented reality glasses."

• Price: Pre-orders opened the same day at $2,195 with a $200 refundable deposit, at specs.com.
• Shipping: Snap says they are "expected to ship this fall in the United States, the United Kingdom, and France." It has not given an exact date.
• Other markets: Snap's release lists US prices only. We found no UK or French pricing in it.

XREAL Aura

XREAL unveiled Aura on June 16 as glasses "powered by Android XR and built with Snapdragon." Reservations opened that day, and the company said Aura would make its first public appearance at AWE that week.

Two other companies backed the announcement:

• Google said in its AWE post: "In today's joint keynote, we announced that reservations are now open for XREAL AURA, coming this fall."
• Qualcomm said it launched Snapdragon Reality Elite at AWE, and that Aura is the first device with it. Devices will be commercially available "a bit later this year," according to its AWE page.

What changed on Oct. 7

XREAL's Oct. 7 release set the price. Pre-orders are open "exclusively for customers who placed paid reservations."

XREAL says Aura "will begin shipping soon in the United States, Canada, Japan, and South Korea, with more markets coming in 2027." There is no exact date. Our Aura guide tracks the details, and the XREAL lineup explainer shows where it sits among the company's other glasses.

Smaller names in AWE's roundup

AWE's roundup also lists a few other glasses. Halion Tech unveiled AR glasses described as an "intelligent personal secretary." Ganzin showed its J9 AI glasses reference design. BleeqUp brought the BleeqUp Ranger, which the roundup calls a "4-in-1 AI sports camera worn on your eyes." This is not a complete list of AWE launches.

What is still unknown

• Exact ship dates for Specs and Aura.
• UK and French pricing for Specs.
• Whether other glasses makers, such as Viture, Rokid or RayNeo, announced products at AWE. This page does not cover them.
