Part of our Pixel Watch guide
Made by Google 2026 took place on Aug. 12, according to Google's press site. For wearables, Google announced the Pixel Watch 5, new features for Pixel Buds and an Olive finish for the Pixel Buds Pro 2. This guide covers what Google announced, what it costs, and what has shipped in the weeks since. It is based on Google's own posts and press pages.

Pixel Watch 5: price and release dates
Google's launch post says the Pixel Watch 5 was available to pre-order from Aug. 12 and reached shelves Aug. 20, starting at $399 for the 41mm and $429 for the 45mm.
| Model | Price | Pre-orders | On shelves |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pixel Watch 5 (41mm) | $399 | Aug. 12 | Aug. 20 |
| Pixel Watch 5 (45mm) | $429 | Aug. 12 | Aug. 20 |
| Stephen Curry Special Edition (45mm) | $579 | Aug. 12 | Sept. 3 |
The watch comes in 41mm and 45mm sizes. Google's press room lists new colors: Fog, Canyon (41mm only) and Olive with a new Pyrite housing.
We could not read the Google Store pages from our network, so we can't confirm store prices or the price of the LTE version. Our Pixel Watch 5 guide has the fuller buying picture, including the Google Health Premium fee.
What the Pixel Watch 5 does
Google describes the watch as "designed for Gemini Intelligence and Google Health." Our Google I/O wearables piece covers the proactive suggestions and the double-pinch gesture that confirms them, and our Gemini on smartwatches explainer puts that in a wider context.
Battery life varies by size. Google's footnote says up to 30 hours for the 41mm and up to 40 hours for the 45mm.
On phones, the same footnote says the watch works with "most phones running on Android 12.0 or newer." It names no iPhone. Google also notes that some features need the Google Health app, a Google Health Premium membership, or both.
The health features, and what has shipped
The headline addition is three monthly trend summaries: blood pressure, sleep breathing quality and insulin resistance. They were announced in August, but the rollout came later. In a Sept. 24 post, Google said users could set up the three in the Google Health app "beginning this week."
Details from that post:
- The tools are included free with Pixel Watch 3, 4 and 5.
- The first trend reports were due in early October.
- Blood pressure and insulin resistance insights arrive on the first of every month.
Google's launch footnote says the blood pressure trends are for general wellness and informational purposes and are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical condition. Google says availability varies by region, and we found no list of countries. Our Apple Watch hypertension piece compares Apple's approach.
Pixel Buds: Olive and software features
The earbud news was smaller. Google's Pixel Buds post says Pixel Buds are getting new features, plus a new Olive finish for the Pixel Buds Pro 2. Olive could be ordered from Aug. 12, and Google said software updates would start rolling out in September.
Two features stand out:
- Seal adjustment. Google says the Pixel Buds Pro 2 "will adjust to compensate when subtle shifts in the seal happen," so noise cancellation holds up.
- Sleep sync with the watch. Google says the watch detects when you fall asleep and "pauses music, disables touch, and silences notifications."
Google's post gives no price for the Olive model. The post's title also mentions the Pixel Buds 2a, but the text we read describes features only for the Pro 2, so we can't say what the 2a gets.
What Google hasn't said
- The price of the Olive Pixel Buds Pro 2 and of the Pixel Watch 5 LTE version.
- Availability of the watch and the Olive buds outside the US.
- Which countries get the blood pressure trends.
- The event venue, which the Google pages we read don't give.
Google also showed Pixel 11 phones and a Pixel Finder Tag at the event. They are not wearables, so this guide leaves them out. If you are choosing between watches, our Galaxy Watch guide is the closest comparison.
