Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4 get Siri Recap and Live Rewind later this year, 9to5Mac reports
According to 9to5Mac, Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4 will get two new features later this year: Siri Recap, which summarizes your day's conversations, and Live Rewind, which shows the last 15 seconds of speech as text. Apple has not given a date.

Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4 will get two new features, Siri Recap and Live Rewind, "later this year," according to 9to5Mac. The outlet's report by Ryan Christoffel ran on Oct. 28, 2026, at 7:08 a.m. PT.
We could not find an Apple page that describes either feature. Apple's watch page did not mention them when we checked on Oct. 28, and Apple's newsroom would not load for us. Everything below comes from 9to5Mac, including the passages it attributes to Apple.

What Siri Recap does
9to5Mac quotes Apple's description: "Siri Recap ambiently takes notes on your conversations throughout your day" and it makes Apple Intelligence summaries, in the quoted words "high-level" ones "that you can use later to jog your memory."
The quoted text also covers retention: "Your summaries auto-delete after 7 days if you choose not to save them." So by that description, a summary you do nothing with disappears in a week, and one you save stays.
9to5Mac places Siri Recap within Siri AI, which it calls "a major tentpole of watchOS 27." Our own page on Siri AI on Apple Watch covers what that assistant needs to run and how Apple labels it.
What Live Rewind does
Live Rewind is the more immediate of the two. In the passage 9to5Mac attributes to Apple, it "recalls what was just said in the last 15 seconds by showing a text snippet on your Apple Watch when you double-press the Digital Crown."
From that snippet, the quoted text says: "You can ask Siri about the content of the snippet or simply save it to the Siri app." 9to5Mac calls Live Rewind another "Audio Intelligence" feature coming to the new Apple Watch models later this year.
If someone says a street name or a phone number and you miss it, a double press of the crown would show it as text.
Which watches get them
The report names two: Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4. We have not seen a source that says older watches are included or excluded. That matters because the base Siri AI feature runs on a wider list. Apple's support page, as we described in our earlier piece, lists Series 9 and later, Ultra 2 and later, and SE 3 for Siri AI. Whether Siri Recap and Live Rewind follow that list or stay limited to the newest hardware is not stated in anything we read.
For how Series 12 and Ultra 4 compare with the rest of the lineup, see our Apple Watch guide.
When they arrive
Apple has not given a month or a date. The only timing in the report is "later this year."
9to5Mac adds its own expectation: "Apple is expected to introduce both new Apple Watch features in watchOS 27.3, which should launch in beta very soon." That is the outlet's forecast. We have not seen Apple name a watchOS version for either feature, and nothing we read says Apple will label them beta.
What Apple hasn't said
- A release date beyond "later this year."
- Other supported models, including Series 11, Ultra 3 and SE 3.
- The watchOS version that will ship the features.
- Languages and countries. Apple's support page says Siri AI on Apple Watch is "Available in English to start." We have no confirmation that these two features follow the same schedule.
- Price. No source says whether the features cost extra.
- Privacy details. 9to5Mac says Apple has published in-depth privacy information for both features and links to it. We did not read that page, so we are not describing Apple's privacy claims beyond the quotes above.
